People searching for an 18-year-old Fort Collins man found his body early Saturday morning near his crashed motorcycle about 8 miles southwest of Red Feather Lakes, authorities say.
He was identified by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office as Nicholas Jekel of Fort Collins.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Department was notified Friday night at about 10 p.m. that Jekel was missing, according to a sheriff’s department news release Saturday.
He had been riding his motorcycle in the area of Forest Development Road 300 and County Road 86, according to sheriff’s officials. A search involving several different agencies began Friday night.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
