Investigators in Douglas County say two more people are slated to turn in their firearms Tuesday for testing to rule out rifles’ involvement in of a Monument man.
One since authorities last week offered to test weapons as part of the investigation into the July 3 death of 60-year-old Glenn Martin.
Sgt. Ron Hanavan, a spokesman for the county sheriff’s office, says an investigation into the shooting remains active and ongoing.
Hanavan said testing on the one gun already submitted to investigators has been completed and that rifle’s involvement ruled out. He said the testing takes roughly a week.
Martin was killed in Rainbow Falls Park, a campground in Pike National Forest. Authorities say he appears to have been shot by an errant bullet.
Signs at the campground show shooting is prohibited. Authorities say Martin was shot once.

With so many gun enthusiasts in the Rainbow Falls Park area, stray bullets and have been blamed for close calls, especially within the past year.
