
1 Man-sized hole. The manager of the DuPont property and work site at 7255 Main St., Louviers, found a 7-by-6-foot hole cut in the property’s outer fence when he arrived there on the morning of July 2. The removed piece was sitting nearby and nothing appeared to have been taken from the site.
2 Really, what is it? A woman living in the 3700 block of Castle Butte Drive, Douglas County, said a lawyer called her on July 1 seeking to collect $910 she failed to pay for an “Energy Miser” device she ordered from an energy company on May 3. She told him she did not order the item or even know what it was. It was determined someone else ordered it using personal information stolen from her.
3 Fine parting gift. Police responded to a moving truck that was vandalized in the parking lot of the closed Safeway store, 560 Castle Pines Parkway, Castle Pines on July 5. The man renting it said he was moving to Florida on July 9 and left the truck there during packing. A pentagram and “Go home or get domed” was spray painted on the truck.
4 Costly scrapes. A couple living in the 9400 block of Burlington Lane, Highlands Ranch, went to a movie on the morning of July 5 and returned to find the driver’s-side doors and trunk of their other car keyed extensively. Damages were estimated between $1,000-$3,000.
5 Birthday bummer. A man said he came home after playing basketball at a recreation center located at 4800 McArthur Ranch Road, Highlands Ranch, on July 7 to find $300 was missing from his wallet. The money was a birthday gift.
