1 Man pulls gun, hides under Dumpster. After being questioned about a suspected drug deal July 1 at Walker Branch Park, 1651 Harlan St., Lakewood, a man ran from police and pulled a gun from his waistband. A short time later, police found the man hiding under a Dumpster after ditching the weapon. He was arrested for unlawfully carrying a concealed firearm, trespassing and obstructing a police officer.

2 Menace to society. On July 5, officers from the Mountain View, Lakeside and Edgewater police departments responded to a report of a felony menacing involving a firearm in the 2100 block of Jay Street. Several of the individuals involved in the incident were openly hostile and aggressive toward the officers and refused to cooperate in the investigation. No arrests were made.

3 Unhappy anniversary. Police arrested a man July 2 for domestic violence at a residence near the intersection of West Girton Drive and South Ammons Street in Lakewood. On their anniversary, the man arrived home drunk to greet his girlfriend with insults and physical force; the woman was injured when he threw her outside. The man was lodged at Jefferson County Jail.

4 Not so fast. On July 1, an officer pulled over a motorist for speeding in the 2200 block of Sheridan Boulevard in Edgewater. The driver was arrested for speeding, DUI and other charges.

5 Meth/knife combo. Lakewood police arrested a man July 1 on a warrant, for possession of methamphetamine and for carrying a concealed knife in the area of Vance Street and West Colfax Avenue.
