ThunderRidge hired Matt Asik as its girls basketball coach on Friday.
Asik, a longtime assistant, has been with the team since 2001. He replaces Paula Krueger, at Northern State University, her alma mater.
“He’s inheriting an excellent team coming off a (Class 5A) state runner-up year,” ThunderRidge athletic director Sean Patterson said.
Seven seniors return to the team next year, including Grizzlies leading scorers Taylor Rusk (14.0 PPG) and Jaz’myne Snipes (11.9 PPG).
