As housing prices in metro Denver creep up and up, finding a cheap home might be a challenge. But they’re out there. If you’re looking to invest, but you’re tight on money one of these sub-$60,000 properties could be a good fit — if you’re open to a condo or a long commute.

This home was built in 1885 as the meeting place for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Originally, the second story — which no longer exists — was used as a dance hall. The current owner, Allan Lager, said the second story was likely burned as firewood during the Depression.
Lager paid cash for the home in 1969, buying it from a Como native. He said he used to go up to the cabin in the summer, but recently he’s just been using it for storage.
The Park County property, 30 miles southwest of Bailey, has been on the market since Aug. 26.

This parking space will make a convenient parking option for someone who lives in Brooks Towers — if the price tag doesn’t scare anyone away.
The current owner and listing agent for the parking space, Jack Salomone, said parking spaces have been going for $55,00 in the this condo building since 2008. He added a $2,000 premium to this spot because of the location right by the door.
He recently took the space off the market and is going to rent it for awhile. He won’t be putting the space back on the market in the foreseeable future, saying “it is still gold to own a parking space downtown.”
