Monday and August 1: We’re big fans of the Salida Aspen Concert Series, which always presents great musicians at bargain prices.
The series borrows players from the mighty Aspen Music Festival across Independence Pass, which means the talent is world-class while the prices are small-town, just $15 for adults and $3 for students.
This year’s series runs through Aug. 13 at the Salida High School Auditorium. On Monday, Irish pianist John O’Conor, who is on the faculty at the Aspen Music School, takes the tiny stage, followed Aug. 1 by the daunting duo of pianist Joyce Yang and violinist Augustin Hadelich.
