Go fly a kite, really
The second annual Japanese Kite Festival is July 31 and Aug. 1. Activities, presented in partnership with the Japan America Society of Colorado and the Denver Department of Parks and Recreation, include two kite-making workshops, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 31, with the festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1. Colorado kite master Scott Skinner and Edo kite master Mikio Toki from Japan will be in attendance. Workshops are $5 each, and reservations are required. The festival is free.
