Lakewood police located a missing Alzheimer’s patient Saturday evening near 10th Street and Wadsworth Boulevard.
Wheat Ridge police put out an alert for Mary DeHerrera, 74, after she walked away from Spring Ridge Park, a secure facility for Alzheimer’s patients on West 26th Avenue.
She was seen leaving at 2:40 p.m. through doors on the east side of the building and was spotted about one minute later walking southeast toward West 26th Avenue and Ames Street.
Police said she knows her name, can speak clearly and does not appear to have dementia on initial contact. However, she cannot find her way back to the assisted living facility.
DeHerrera could be trying to get to her daughter’s house, police said.
Four months ago, DeHerrera left her daughter’s house and later was found near I-70 and Kipling Street, police said.
