CHICAGO — CarGo’s special deliveries at the plate netted him a co-National League player of the week award, it was announced Monday.

Carlos Gonzalez, the Rockies’ right fielder, shared the award with Philadelphia Phillies ace left-hander Cole Hamels.

Gonzalez led the majors with five home runs and a 1.190 slugging percentage last week. He led the National League with 11 RBIs and 25 total bases while tying for the NL lead with nine runs scored. His .476 batting average (10-for-21) ranked fifth in the NL.

Gonzalez capped off his red-hot week with a 3-for-4 performance on Sunday in Colorado’s 17-7 win over Cincinnati, hitting two home runs, scoring four runs and driving in six.

The multi-homer game was the second of the weekend for CarGo, who homered twice in Colorado’s 6-5 victory over the Reds on Friday. It is CarGo’s fifth career player-of-week award award. He last won it June 10-16, 2013.

Hamels tossed the third no-hitter of the 2015 season on Saturday, striking out 13 and walking two in Philadelphia’s 5-0 win over Cubs at Wrigley Field.
