Kickoff organizer Sharon Whiton Gelt joined Judy McNeil, who was standing in for an unable-to-attend guild president Shelley Lucas, in welcoming a crowd that included Dana Davis, interim executive director of the Children’s Diabetes Foundation, and her boyfriend, Shane Hendryson; Nancy Cowee with daughter Susan McCarthy; Tangy and Brad Buchanan; Sandy Alpert; Lynnette Morrison; Susan and Paul Squyer; Bonnie Neiseisel; Gretchen Pope and daughter Kim Myers; Jackie Rotole; Jane Kranich; and Cheri Meagher, whose son, Kelly, was one of the Barbara Davis Center patients who spoke briefly about their experiences living with Type 1 diabetes.
