Colorado State wide receiver Rashard Higgins was named the Mountain West preseason offensive player of the year Tuesday.

Higgins, who is entering his junior year, recorded 1,750 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns for the Rams last season, which earned him unanimous All-America honors and was a Biletnikoff Award finalist.

He joined teammate tight end Steven Walker on the all-conference team.

Wyoming senior defensive lineman and former Grandview star Eddie Yarbrough was also selected to the all-Mountain West team, as were Air Force DL Alex Hansen and DB Weston Steelhammer.
