1 Denny’s chef assaults customer. On July 22, Denver police responded to an incident at Denny’s, 1605 Federal Blvd., where a customer was assaulted by a cook. Police learned that the suspect had fled, possibly to catch the bus. The manager witnessed the assault and gave a statement.

2 Man robbed while sleeping. A man contacted Denver police July 23 after he was robbed by two people while sleeping on the street in the 1400 block of Clarkson Street. The victim said he was lying next to a building when the suspects approached and took his wallet and phone before fleeing on foot.

3 Woman throws bike from balcony. On July 26, a Denver police officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of Arapahoe Street where a woman was throwing things off her balcony, including a bike, which hit a parked car. The woman was arguing with her boyfriend, who came for his stuff, so she began throwing it into the street.

4 Robbery suspect enters with greeting, gunshot. A 7-Eleven employee called Denver police July 28 after a suspect attempted to rob his store at 1645 E. 17th Ave. The suspect entered by saying “hello, hello,” then produced a handgun. The victim slammed the office door closed to shield himself, but the suspect fired a round at the door. The suspect fled, then returned, but never took any items.

5 Men’s bathroom flooded. On July 25, a man was arrested for breaking the sprinkler in the men’s bathroom, flooding the room, at Denver Cares, 1155 Cherokee St. Witnesses saw the suspect running out of the bathroom as the fire alarm went off.
