A painter, draftsman and printmaker who influenced artists near and far — before falling into obscurity. The exhibit, “Castiglione: Lost Genius — Masterworks on Paper from the Royal Collection,” aims to bring back his highly skilled name. Featuring 90 drawings and prints, the exhibit is a cross-cultural affair, co-curated by Martin Clayton, from the Royal Collection Trust, which holds hundreds of the artist’s pieces, and DAM’s own Timothy Standring, who has been somewhat obsessed with the forgotten Castiglione for three decades .
