Through Oct. 24: Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Center for Visual Art has emerged as one of the city’s most important art galleries. More and more, it has an international outlook, assembling shows of unexpected work from artists across the globe. It’s hard to imagine its current exhibit, “A New Fine Line: Contemporary Ink Painting From China,” happening anywhere else. The show, in association with the Asian Art Coordinating Council, features present-day Chinese artists practicing the traditional gongbi method, employing fine outlines of form and shadings in ink and paint.
