
1 “Stolen” car found. A man who reported his car stolen from the 40 block of Mount Evans Blvd., Pine, (not on map) called Jeffco Sheriff’s office July 30 to say he had found it. He said he had called his mechanic when he was drunk and his mechanic interpreted that his car needed to be towed in for work. The car was safely retrieved from the mechanic.
2 “Stolen” compressor found. An owner of Napa Auto Parts, 30790 Stagecoach Blvd., Evergreen, reported July 31 that an air compressor was missing from behind the store. He believed it was stolen, but later reported it found — an employee of a neighboring business said they put it inside, fearing it was vulnerable to theft.
3 Fight in parking lot fizzles. Golden police reported to the scene of a fight July 24 in the parking lot of King Soopers at 17171 S. Golden Road. Witnesses reported seeing a man and woman arguing, the woman strike the man and then a second man assault the other. A blue pickup truck approached and the woman and second man got in and left. The first man was seen beating his head against a nearby tree before leaving in his car. Police could not locate the suspects.
4 School egged. A Jeffco Sheriff’s deputy reported July 31 that Bergen Valley Elementary School, 1892 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen, had been egged. The deputy checked with local grocers about juveniles buying eggs but found no leads.
5 Suspect skips cab fare. A taxi driver reported July 27 that a woman whose credit card was declined fled without paying once arriving at Cactus Jack’s, 4651 Colorado 73. The credit card was retained as evidence.
