After announcing that Chicago Blackhawks forward , Electronic Arts unveiled the game’s new cover on Wednesday.
The cover features Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews hoisting the Stanley Cup. Originally plans were to have both Toews and Kane on the cover.
“In light of the ongoing investigation involving Patrick Kane, he will no longer be a spokesperson for the launch of EA SPORTS NHL 16,” EA released in its official statement regarding Kane. “He will not appear on the EA SPORTS NHL 16 cover nor participate in other EA SPORTS NHL 16 promotional activities.”
