A woman in Colorado Springs got her stolen vehicle back after locating it Thursday and calling police, officials said.

Earlier in the week, the woman was a victim of a home invasion robbery in which her vehicle was stolen, according to Colorado Springs police.

On Thursday afternoon, the woman located her vehicle in the 600 block of North Murray Boulevard and notified police.

When officers arrived on the scene and began detaining potential suspects who were seen in the parking lot with the vehicle, one suspect fled on foot.

Police said they followed the suspect and saw him attempting to pull a handgun out of his waistband.

Officers were able to detain the man and recovered a 9-millimeter handgun from his pants, authorities said.

Another man detained on the scene was found to have cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills, police said.

Both suspects were taken into custody.

The vehicle was then returned to the owner.
