1 Violent girlfriend attacks. A woman upset about not being invited to a wedding with her boyfriend went on the attack Aug. 6 in the 2600 block of South Flower Street, Lakewood. After kicking a trash can at him and punching him in the face, the girlfriend went to the basement and destroyed 49 marijuana plants valued at $13,050. The boyfriend said a few weeks prior, she destroyed a musical instrument valued at $4,000.
2 Softball brawl. A supposedly friendly game of softball Aug. 11 at Citizen’s Park near the 5400 block of West 22nd Avenue in Edgewater heated up after several verbal confrontations led to one man being hit in the back of the head by a member of the opposing team.
3 Traffic stop yields drug bust. A woman was arrested after being pulled over for an inoperable license plate light Aug. 8 near West Colfax Avenue and Fenton Street, Lakewood. She faced charges for driving without a license and methamphetamine possession.
4 DUI one of many charges. A DUI enforcement team arrested the driver of a vehicle that officers saw weaving Aug. 15 in the 2400 block of Sheridan Boulevard in Edgewater. The driver faced DUI, weaving and no proof of insurance charges.
5 DUI arrest. Police arrested a man driving a white 2000 Toyota Rav4 on Aug. 8 near West Hampden Avenue and South Kipling Parkway in Lakewood on suspicion of DUI after the suspect was observed driving west in the eastbound lane.
