GREELEY — A dispute between Greeley-Evans School District 6 and a Northridge High School art teacher over ownership of the school’s logo has resulted in removal of the logo and a $21,500 check for Dean Dickson.

The Greeley Tribune reports that a settlement agreement, e-mails and other documents show a yearlong tug-of-war between the district and Dickson that led Northridge to pursue a new logo.

Dickson created a series of Northridge bear logos for the school, which opened in the fall of 2000. Dickson told the district to buy the logo or stop using it.

Dickson told officials if the school district wanted to buy the logo, it would cost $65,000.
