Niwot’s SparkFun Electronics is teaming up with No Starch Press to publish a series of educational books for digital creators.

The first book, “The SparkFun Guide to Processing,” goes on sale Sept. 1 for $29.95, although fans can pre-order a copy on Amazon for $18.07.

SparkFun, which sells tools online for electronic hobbyists, has long integrated education into its business. It has a team dubbed “Department of Education,” which travels on a bus to educate students and the public.

Derek Runberg, who works in this department, authored the 312-page book. It features projects like making pixel art, fetching data to create a weather dashboard and combining processing with Arduino.
