Four years after undergoing neck procedures to alleviate pain and arm weakness, Denver Broncos quarterback , he told Sports Illustrated’s Peter King.

“I can’t feel anything in my fingertips,” Manning said Thursday to SI. “It’s crazy. I’ve talked to a doctor recently who said, Don’t count on the feeling coming back. It was hard for me for about two years, because one doctor told me I could wake up any morning and it might come back. So you wake up every day thinking, Today’s the day! Then it’s not.”

Manning’s numbers have actually improved since sitting out the 2011 season. His 67.7 completion percentage in Denver is 2.8 percent higher than during his time with Indianapolis, and his quarterback rating has been 107.8 with the Broncos — nearly 13 points more than his average with the Colts.

Manning showed , according to The Denver Post’s Troy Renck.

“It’s different than a year ago. It’s crazy, but he’s throwing the ball a lot harder and even more accurate than last year,” defensive end DeMarcus Ware said to The Denver Post.
