Three transfers have bolstered the Colorado Buffs defense and moved to the top of the depth chart at their positions.

Former Air Force quarterback Jaleel Awini is listed as a starter at outside linebacker ahead of returning letterman Christian Shaver. At right defensive end, Leo Jackson III, a junior college transfer from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, Calif., has moved ahead of junior Jimmie Gilbert, who started nine games last season. Jordan Carrell, another JC transfer, is No. 1 at defensive tackle ahead of two-year letterman Samson Kafovalu.

In other changes, sophomore Ryan Moeller has moved from No. 2 at strong safety to No. 1 at free safety. At the third receiver position, sophomore Devin Ross is listed ahead of sophomore Donovan Lee and redshirt freshman Jay MacIntyre.
