A flight from Las Vegas to Germany made an emergency landing Friday night in Denver after a “disturbance on the plane” caused the plane to stay put overnight, officials said.
“It’s still here, and it’s rescheduled for later tonight,” said Heath Montgomery, Denver International Airport spokesman, on Saturday.
A pilot on the Condor Airlines Boeing 767 reported an in-flight emergency that prompted a diversion to DIA with the help of two F-16 fighter jet escorts.
“All passengers are fine,” Montgomery said.
One passenger was escorted off the plane.
According to the FBI, the incident was a “misunderstanding” and nobody was arrested or taken into custody.
Other details were not available.
A spokeswoman for the airline in Germany, Carsten Stepanowicz, said the pilot requested help for an unruly passenger on board.
Montgomery said earlier reports that the plane continued its journey Friday night were incorrect. Passengers were put up in area hotels.
The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m., Montgomery said. The Transportation Security Administration and Denver police met the plane at the gate, and the FBI was notified.
