Bridge Project, a liberal organization, takes aim at the Koch brothers’ connections to Colorado in a new report. (Cover Image from Bridge Project)

A new 86-page report from the Bridge Project is highlighting all the connections between conservative billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch and Colorado.

Dubbed “The Kochs’ Rocky Mountain High,” the research is part of a continuing effort from Democrats and their allies to vilify the Koch brothers for their big-dollar support of conservative political causes. Bridge Project is an offshoot of American Bridge, a super PAC and liberal opposition research firm.

The report’s findings are sure to strike a particular chord here in Colorado, given the brothers’ homes in Aspen.

The tone is evident from the start. “David and Charles Koch are turning states into their own political playgrounds, using their billions to influence policy to suit their business and personal needs, and Colorado is one of the most prolific examples,” the report opens. “Together with their network of dark money groups, the Koch brothers are fighting to impose policies that fit their agenda while hurting middle-class Colorado families.”

It goes on to detail the work of Americans for Prosperity in Colorado, a conservative group backed by Koch money, as well as other organizations that the brothers’ political network supports. Not surprisingly, the report doesn’t focus on the brothers’ philanthropic efforts in Colorado, particularly in Aspen, where they are benefactors to various cultural organizations.
