FORT COLLINS — As Colorado State started the game-week routine for the first time under Mike Bobo, in anticipation of Saturday’s opener against Savannah State, the Rams Monday released a depth chart for the first time since the media guide was published in advance of preseason practices.
There were no huge surprises, at least not when considering it’s not written in stone and the Rams will run people in and out and use packages.
Plus, running back Treyous Jarrells, expected to be the primary ballcarrier, won’t be ready to go Saturday after undergoing recent arthroscopic knee surgery, so he isn’t listed on this depth chart. , the sophomore transfer from Purdue, is listed as the starter, with Jasen Oden Jr. behind him.
“We see those guys as a co-number one,” Bobo said. “Dawkins ended the spring as the number one guy and he hasn’t done anything to lose that. I would still say he’s number one, but Oden has had a great camp, not just as a running back but in special teams play.”
The Rams will find ways to use all three tight ends, where Kivon Cartwright is listed as the starter, with Nolan Peralta and 2014 all-league choice as co-backups behind him.
