Troopers said inattentive driving is suspected after one person died and another sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on I-25, five miles south of Pueblo.

The Colorado State Patrol investigated the two-vehicle crash Sunday at approximately 3:09 p.m. that resulted in the death of 18-year-old Isaiah Tafoya of Walsenburg.

Tafoya was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry southbound on I-25, where it collided with a 2007 GMC U-Haul Truck, which was on the righthand shoulder, according to a release from Colorado State Patrol. After impact, the Toyota pushed the GMC 60 feet, where both the Toyota and GMC came to rest upright in the right lane.

Tafoya was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the release. He was transported to St. Mary Corwin, where he died as a result of his injuries.
