Two weeks after notching a new high for 2015, gas prices in Colorado continue to fall.
The average price of a gallon of unleaded in Colorado fell 7.5 cents over the past week to $2.675, according to fuel website
. Prices fell 6.3 cents to an average of $2.73 per gallon in metro Denver. Nationally, prices fell by nearly 13 cents for an average of $2.47 per gallon.
Colorado’s prices because of the shutdown of a crude distillation unit at BP’s refinery in Whiting, Ind.
“The unit’s restart was much sooner than the market expected and has sent gasoline prices plummeting as a result,” Gas Buddy analyst William Speer
said.
