The Rockies will face their former all-star shortstop just as summer kicks in next year when Troy Tulowitzki and the Toronto Blue Jays travel to Colorado for a three-game series.
Major League Baseball released the Rockies schedule Monday. Colorado opens on Monday, April 4 at Arizona against the Diamondbacks, at 7:40 p.m. MT. The Rockies’ home opener comes against the San Diego Padres on Friday, April 8 at 2:10 p.m. at Coors Field.
The Rockies’ interleague matchups come against the American League East. They will travel to face the Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston May 24-26. They go to New York to face the Yankees on May 21-22.
But the Yankees play in Denver in a two-game home series May 14-15.
Tulowitzki — in his first visit to Colorado since the Rockies traded him in July to Toronoto — and the Blue Jays play at Coors Field in a three-game series June 27-29.
CALENDAR:
The Rockies also host interleague series against the AL East’s Tampa Bay Rays (July 18-20), and AL West’s Texas Rangers (Aug. 8-9).
The Rockies open the season with 25 of their first 35 games — including the first game — against NL West rivals rivals.
Colorado’s interleague schedule has it facing all of the American League East.
The annual fireworks show is scheduled for July 8 and 9 after games against the Philadelphia Phillies, and on Sept. 30 following the Milwaukee Brewers’ game.
The first day to purchase 2016 tickets will be announced at a later date.
