Firefighters in the southwest Denver metro area rescued a dog Monday who fell roughly 200 feet through an open mine shaft.
West Metro Fire Rescue says Bailey the dog is back home and safe after falling in the Roxborough area.
Officials say she tumbled into a clay mine.
“Our technical rescue crew carried out a steep angle rope rescue, lowering two rescuers down the shaft,” the department . “The crew pulled Bailey back up to the surface where she was reunited with her very happy owner.”
