Welcome to our feature highlighting the numerous Colorado tech companies that make cool stuff. These little snippets are intended for readers to explore the technology being made right here. One company at a time, of course.

Novum Concepts

Novum Concepts enables pre-registration while en route to the ER. But who’s going to think of opening an app? Ya, Novum knows that. This helps paramedics prep doctors with patient info, photos and videos that could speed up what hopefully is a short stay.

When you’re headed to the emergency room in an ambulance, the last thing you’re going to do is mess with a new smartphone app. The guys at Novum Concepts get that. Their mobile app is for paramedics — co-founders Mike Kobneck and Kevin Scardina are paramedics themselves. The idea is that during the hospital ride, paramedics help patients register ahead of time and securely send images or video of critical information to help the hospital better prep for their arrival. On average, it saves 10 minutes of registration time — but no waiting in line! Four fire departments have signed on (Louisville, Lafayette, Mountain View and Rocky Mountain) and its first hospital: Good Samaritan ER.
