1 Not Johnny. Thornton police were called Aug. 14 to Walmart, 9901 Grant St., because a man cussed at a secret shopper and knocked his hat off his head, saying that his job is “messed up.” The suspect told police he mistook the employee for his friend, Johnny, and didn’t mean to harass him.
2 Sidewalk sit-in. An unruly woman was arrested outside the Mile High Thrift Store, 650 Malley Drive, Northglenn, for screaming and cussing at staff because they asked her not to bring a backpack in the store Aug. 22. The woman sat on the sidewalk outside and refused to leave until officers arrested her.
3 Dinged for doo-doo. A man who lives in the 9100 block of Fontaine Street, Federal Heights, called police on his neighbor Aug. 10 because the neighbor’s dog was running around the neighborhood, and defecating specifically in his yard. The dog owner was ticketed.
4 Smoking and stealing. Two teenagers were apprehended in the 9100 block of Tejon Street, Federal Heights, after a patrolling officer caught them smoking weed in an idling car Aug. 10. The officer determined that one of the teens took the car from her mother without permission. Officers returned the kids to their parents.
5 Drinking in the park. A man was cited Aug. 22 for drinking a beer at 12:30 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 6150 Parkway Drive, Commerce City.
6 Attempted break-in. The owner of Abo’s Pizza, 2145 E. 120th Ave., Northglenn, called police Aug. 21 because someone unsuccessfully tried to pry open the front door of his business.
