Arapahoe County authorities arrested a man Wednesday in Centennial.

Jonathon Ryan, 31, is accused of the shooting on the 5500 block of South Jebel Way.

The shooting was related to a “family disturbance,” said Julie Brooks, a spokeswoman for the county sheriff’s office.

“It is not clear what led up to the shooting as Ryan and his father were the only two at home at the time of the incident,” the county sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Ryan is suspected of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and crimes against an at-risk adult.

Officials say Ryan was arrested about 3 p.m. Wednesday after he returned to the home where he allegedly shot his father.

Authorities say Ryan’s father was taken to a hospital. An update on his condition was not immediately available, the release said.
