1 Chihuahua on the loose. A brown Chihuahua running loose in the 1400 block of South Balsam Street in Lakewood was captured and impounded by police Aug. 19. The owner was issued a citation for not having the dog registered.
2 Fugitive holding drugs, stolen items. Police arrested a man Aug. 19 in the area of West Bayaud Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Lakewood after a routine contact revealed he had a warrant out of Denver and methamphetamine and stolen credit cards in his coat pockets.
3 DUI arrest. Police arrested a man Aug. 20 near West Sixth Avenue Frontage Road and Wright Street in Lakewood on suspicion of DUI and careless driving.
4 Shoplifter nabbed. One half of a shoplifting duo was nabbed by loss prevention on Aug. 19 at Kohl’s, 3150 S. Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood. The thieves attempted to leave the store with concealed items valued at $210. The other person fled.
5 Woman attacks husband. Police arrested a woman Aug. 19 in the 2500 block of Willow Lane in Lakewood after she assaulted her husband and smashed a ceramic cup in anger over his alleged infidelity.
6 Meth pipe found on motorist. A man driving a Yamaha scooter was pulled over and ticketed Aug. 19 in the area of West 14th Avenue and Gray Street in Lakewood after he consented to a body search and admitted that there was a methamphetamine pipe in his pocket.
