BRADY, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say a 54-year-old man has died in a Denver hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in western Nebraska’s Lincoln County.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched Tuesday around 9:20 p.m. to check a report that a vehicle had struck someone in a wheelchair on Link 56 D, south of Brady. The deputies found David Rice Jr., of Brady, who had been hit by a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Joshua Boon, also of Brady.
Rice was sent to a North Platte hospital and then flown to a Denver hospital for treatment. The Sheriff’s Office was informed early Wednesday morning that Rice had died.
Boon was cited for not having a vehicle registration and no proof of insurance.
The accident is being investigated.
