COLORADO SPRINGS — A nearly six-hour standoff early Wednesday in an east Colorado Springs neighborhood ended when Colorado Springs police used tear gas to force a suspect outside of the home, police said.
Adam Williams, 22, was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, prohibited use of weapons and failure to leave premises upon request of a peace officer, police said.
Police responded to “a disturbance involving a gun” just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to a home on the 5400 block of Mosca Pass Court, police said.
“While officers were in front of the residence,” police said in a report, “they heard a firearm being racked and an occupant verbally refused to come out of the residence.”
Witnesses told investigators that “two of the occupants got into an argument and pulled guns on each other, then got into a physical fight with each other,” police said.
Officers got “several individuals” outside of the home, police said. In a report by Gazette news partner KKTV, four people were involved in the disturbance.
