Testing, testing … (Denver Post file of PARCC practice).

The Colorado Department of Education will release statewide results from this year’s PARCC tests in English and math at a meeting in November.

The announcement was made by Elliott Asp, interim commissioner for the state, during Thursday’s meeting, and also through a . Asp also announced that social studies tests will not be given to high school students in the 2015-16 school year.




Under new state laws, the tests are to be given to portions of students on a three-year cycle. Under the department’s plan, half of schools in the state will take the test in 2016-17 and another half will take it in 2017-18.

District and school results for math and English will be available later in November.

At that time the department also expects to announce the results of a bidding process to find a suitable 10th grade college preparatory exam and 11th grade college entrance exam.

The state board earlier in the year decided to for high school students, but that data won’t be aggregated to compare districts or schools.
