Boeing Co. on Wednesday rejected a $2 billion offer for Centennial-based United Launch Alliance from Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings Inc.

Aerojet has been pursuing Boeing and Lockheed Martin Corp.’s 50/50 joint venture, which is the Pentagon’s primary rocket maker.

ULA launches most of the sensitive military and intelligence satellites.

“We did not take the unsolicited proposal for ULA seriously,” said Boeing Space president Craig Cooning in prepared remarks for a speech at an industry conference. “We are committed to ULA and its business.”

Boeing spokesman Todd Blecher confirmed Cooning’s remarks.

Lockheed declined to comment.
