The Greenwood Village City Council on Monday is expected to appoint former planning manager Darryl Jones as its newest member, following the resignation last week of longtime Councilman Jeff Roemer.

Roemer, a developer, said he stepped down Sept. 8 because a 10-home residential development proposal on East Belleview Avenue that he oversees as head of F&C Holdings is about to come before the city.

“I just wanted to make sure I was completely separated from my duties on council,” he told The Denver Post on Friday.

Roemer stepped down less than two months before he would have left office because of term limits.

Jones, who serves on the city’s Board of Adjustment, is scheduled to be sworn in Monday.
