1 Brothers beef over car. A man who thought he had carte blanche to drive his mother’s car became upset when she allowed her other son to use the vehicle. Later that day, the new driver found two tires deflated after he parked at the Dairy Queen at 7580 W. 64th Ave., Arvada. Police determined no crime had been committed, but later issued a ticket to the original driver when he eluded police on a motorcycle after being run off the Dairy Queen property for prowling.

2 Liquor store brawl. Police ticketed a man Sept. 4 for pummeling the owner of a white Mercury SUV in the parking lot of Water Tower Liquors, 5545 Olde Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada.

3 Screwdriver threat. A man who had been knocked out Sept. 4 was taunted later that day by his attacker. This prompted his friend to attempt a citizen’s arrest in the 5700 block of Webster Street, Arvada. Instead, a brawl broke out involving pepper spray and a threatened stabbing with a screwdriver. All three were ticketed.

4 Lost love. Police were called to the Ale House at 7995 Sheridan Blvd.in Arvada on reports of a man who was lying underneath his ex-girlfriend’s car after sending her a text message saying he wanted his head crushed. He told police he was just fixing a radiator leak and was arrested for violation of a protection order for being under the influence.

5 Brother-in-law assaulted. A man broke his brother-in-law’s nose when the man caused a disturbance after being kicked out of the family home in the 7900 block of West 51st Avenue in Arvada on Sept. 4. He was issued a summons for assault.
