
1 Jewelry, machete theft. Sisters who live in the 8400 block of Thunder Ridge Way, Highlands Ranch, say they were burglarized when they left the patio door to their condo unlocked on Sept. 15. Among the items stolen were diamond earrings, an emerald ring and one sister’s “Zombie killing machete.”
2 Tough talk, mirror puncher. A man was driving his truck near King Soopers,4000 Red Cedar Drive, Highlands Ranch, on Sept. 14 when he nearly brushed mirrors with the truck next to him. The other driver got out, they argued and the man challenged him to fight in the next parking lot. The man punched the victim’s side mirror as he went back to his truck. Then he drove off without stopping to fight.
3 Dastardly duo. Staff at Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply,12154 Dumont Way, Highlands Ranch, say a man and woman stole items, including a $350 drill set, from the store on Sept. 17. They came in together , filled up a cart and split up. The man got in a sedan, circled around back and picked up the woman and the stolen goods.
4 Cigarette spurred fight. Police responded to a father-son fight on Aug. 28 in the 6000 in the block of Millbridge Avenue, Castle Rock, that started over the son stealing cigarettes. The son elbowed his father as he was trying to leave the house. The father punched him. No charged were filed.
5 Old school theft. A man’s truck was ransacked after being left unlocked in his driveway in the 13200 block of Mercury Drive, Lone Tree, on Sept. 15. A $50 flip phone was stolen.
