A wide-spread 9-1-1 outage is affecting eastern areas of Arapahoe County, officials said Tuesday.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office learned around 2:25 p.m. that a 9-1-1 outage was affecting the entire town and rural portions of Bennett, according to an Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Bijou Telephone Cooperative and Eastern Slope Rural Telephone Association have notified the sheriff’s office that they are affected by the outage. Bijou Telephone will reroute calls to the Byers Fire Station, which will be transferred to the appropriate fire or law jurisdiction, the sheriff’s office said.

Eastern Slope is rerouting calls to the Bennett Fire Department, which will transfer calls to MetCom, the release said.

The sheriff’s office said there was no information about what caused the outage or when service will be restored.
