COLORADO SPRINGS — Hand-tool manufacturer Western Forge might lay off about half of its workers.

The company notified the state Sept. 2 that it expects to lay off about 150 workers over two months.

Human resources manager John Quarles said a final decision on layoffs hasn’t been made.

Western Forge makes pliers, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches and other tools and used to make Craftsman tools for Sears.

It was purchased by Sycamore, Ill.-based Ideal Industries in 2010.
