EAGLE, Colo. (AP) — An Eagle County man has been arrested in connection with an alleged crime spree and could face more than 100 years behind bars.
The Vail Daily reports (http://bit.ly/1Ff0DxA) 31-year-old Jesus Manuel Miranda was charged Tuesday with 18 felonies after allegedly robbing two businesses Sept. 4.
Miranda has also been accused of shooting a man, smacking a store clerk with a handgun, stealing two cell phones and trying to flee on Interstate 70 through Glenwood Canyon.
Miranda will return to court Wednesday where he will face more felony charges for travelling into Garfield County.
District Attorney Bruce Brown says Miranda is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. He says the suspect could receive a prison sentence of more than 100 years if he’s convicted of everything.
