Forward Curtis Glencross signed a PTO with Colorado on Monday, a day after being released from a PTO with Toronto. Glencross, 32, played 6 1/2 seasons with the Calgary Flames before finishing last season with the Washington Capitals. Adding Glencross might be the response from losing Jesse Winchester, 31, who is again troubled with concussion-like symptoms. Winchester missed all of last season with the head injury he suffered in a preseason game at Calgary.
I don’t think Glencross’ signing has anything to do with Jack Skille, who suffered a hip injury in Sunday’s preseason game against Los Angeles. Skille, also on a PTO, should be back soon; he might play Thursday at Anaheim.
Jesse Winchester, who has battled concussion symptoms for a year, no longer has locker stall in ‘ main room at practice complex. Sad.

Winchester might never play for Colorado. He is in the second and final year of a $1.8 million contract he signed with the Avs as a free agent in 2013. He is making $900,000 a year, but feeling like crud.
“It’s unfortunate because he’s a good person and good teammate who just ran into a lot of bad luck,” Avs captain Gabe Landeskog said of Winchester. “I hope that he can find a way to let his head heal, and find a way to feel better.”
Said alternate captain Cody McLeod: “I haven’t seen him since DU (Burgundy/White scrimmage Sept. 20). It’s tough because he was looking good when we were skating before camp. He was buzzing around, looked in good shape. It sucks for him.”
