Rangeview Raider football in Aurora will be hosting a special guest on Friday.

United States Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Brian Jacklin will be addressing the Class 5A team, according to the Raiders’ booster club. A member of the 1st Marine Raider Battalion Special Operations Command, Jacklin was awarded the Navy Cross, the second-highest honor for valor, for his actions in Afghanistan in June 2012.

The Marine Raiders, a title recently revived for special-forces units, will be recognized by the Raiders in their game against Hinkley on Friday. Rangeview players will wear a decal on their helmets. The 5A South Metro League game will kick off Friday at 6 p.m. at Aurora Public Schools Stadium.

Jackson will be in attendance as an honorary captain and participate in the pre-game toss.
