Denver police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected in a downtown sex assault last month on the 16th Street Mall.

Investigators say the assault happened about 10 p.m. on Sept. 19 on the 500 block of the mall.

Sonny Jackson, a police spokesman, said the assault happened in a “secluded area.”

“It doesn’t appear that they knew each other,” he said.

Police describe the suspect as a male who is about 5-feet 9-inches tall. Authorities said he is skinny, has short hair and is about 25 years old.

“The suspect possibly goes by the name of Frank,” police said.

Anyone with information on the sex assault is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
