ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — Aspen officials are investigating after a stand of cottonwood trees died in a suspicious manner at a condominium complex.
The Aspen Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1FUBAjn ) that the death of nearly a dozen trees is being investigated by the Aspen Parks Department. The trees appear to have died quickly and unnaturally, with grass around the trees also dying.
Officials are testing the soul around the trees to see if they died naturally or were poisoned. The Aspen Police Department may investigate, pending the results of the soil test.
