Denver police arrested a man who allegedly pretended to be a police officer while attempting to sexually assault a woman early Tuesday morning.

Morris Fate, 32, is being held for investigation of impersonating a peace officer and unlawful sexual contact, said Doug Schepman, Denver police spokesman.

The woman was not physically injured during the incident, said Eranda Piyasena, Denver police spokesman.

The 911 call came in at 12:20 a.m., Piyasena said.

A man posing as a police officer attempted to sexually assault a woman near the intersection of 17th and Xenia streets, he said.
