Authorities have identified a 20-year-old Georgia woman killed in Colorado Springs that left two others injured.

Marissa Ramirez of Lilburn, Ga., was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero when it wrecked while traveling southbound.

The Colorado State Patrols says the Mitsubishi veered into the center median. Investigators believe the driver then steered to the right, causing the vehicle to begin rotating clockwise.

“The driver then steered to the left, which caused the vehicle to begin rotating counter-clockwise and collide with a guardrail,” the State Patrol said in a news release. “After colliding with the guardrail, the Mitsubishi Montero overturned several times across the left and center lanes.”

The driver of the Mitsubishi, 24-year-old Armando Escobar of Colorado Springs, was wearing his seatbelt and was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The front passenger, 27-year-old Terence Barker Jr. of Colorado Springs, was also wearing his seatbelt and was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Ramirez was sitting in the rear of the Mitsubishi and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be a factors in the crash, investigators say, which remains under investigation.

The Colorado State Patrol is asking for any witnesses to the crash to contact Trooper Eric Zachareas at (719) 544-2424.
